Speaker: Graham Medlin
Topic: Using Stick-Nest Rat middens to study potential Climate Change in the Flinders Ranges over the last 10, 000 years.
Previous distribution of Stick Nest Rat species spans many areas of SA. Historic nest sites are still identifiable in the Flinders Ranges, particularly in caves, where solidified urine in nests is proving useful in research into Climate Change.
Graham Medlin was recently honoured as South Australia’s 2020 Unsung Hero of
Science for “his enormous contribution to the field of palaeobiology in
Australia as an Honorary Research Associate at the SA Museum.”
